For as long as I can remember I have gotten manicures every 5 days. I think it was because of the work I did and how many skincare products I used on my hands. Over the years I have tried gel nails and acrylics but they felt unnatural for me and I realized I am a short, traditional polish girl at heart.

I didn't think I could get more natural than that until COVID arrived. I knew I wasn't going to polish my nails every week, so I started wearing them without polish!

A lot of women started to ask what I do to keep them looking great. Here are my tricks...

1.) Cut any extra dry skin around your nail and cuticle. Be sure not to clip too much.

2.) File your nail in the shape you desire. I learned that your real nail shape should be the same shape as your cuticle. That is the look that is most natural for everyone. So that is what I believe looks best.

3.) Use Nailtiques #2 clear polish. It dries super fast and I like to reapply it every other day or so to keep my nails strong.

4.) Every day I use Dr. Barbara Sturm Lip Balm on my cuticles. It keeps them soft and supple and I never have hangnails. It's been a trick of mine for years since my hands are always in skincare products and touching faces!

Give natural nails a try. I bet you will start liking how they look and how easy it is to take care of them!
